Right now, the process has taken approximately two months, including a week and a half to two weeks for orientation. I just completed orientation on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday of next week, I will go to the location where I will be working, starting at 7 o'clock in the morning. I will be there until God knows when. Then, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I will attend my Academy class. Basically, it has taken me about two months to get my entire process started for this job. It involved filling out the application, taking the test, and waiting for emails from the background check team. I also had to take a drug test, which I passed. Right after the drug test, I was called in to fill out my 401k paperwork. Overall, the process seems relatively easy, but you just have to be patient. I spoke to some people in my orientation class, and one girl mentioned that she started her application process in February and only received a callback for an interview in May. She is now just entering the class with me. So, it's not a terrible process, you just have to hang in there and wait for everything to go through. Besides that, it is a really great job opportunity. There are two types of positions - City Carriers (CCAs) and rural carrier associates (RCAs) like me. RCAs cover for employees on leave or those who have the day off. Then, there are also people who work in the actual USPS facility, known as PSE and others. It's not a bad process overall. I personally like it so far....
